Deena Romoff

Deena Romoff was born in 1947, orphaned at age 8, and grew up in foster care in the Bronx. After living communally in several places across the United States, in 1970 she moved to Tolstoy Farms, an organic farming community outside of Spokane; she settled in Spokane itself about five years later. An outspoken “lesbian, feminist, Jewish, witch, Unitarian Universalist,” Romoff speaks passionately of conglomerated cultures, identities, and communities.
