David Cornelius – I’d Like You to Know

“All my friends were there.”

[Of our three public commitments to each other, the marriage was the most emotionally significant to me.] Without question. Even more so than the first [commitment ceremony. Our marriage ceremony] was bigger and all my friends were there. That was really kind of nice. It seemed more real, more important, more significant. It was emotional. When we held the rehearsal the night before the wedding, I was not able to say anything, because I started crying, every time. So [the officiate] said, “Don’t worry. This won’t happen on the day of the wedding.” He was right. Yeah, it was more emotional [than the commitment ceremony or declaration of a domestic partnership].
