Craig Peterson

Born in 1967, Craig Peterson grew up in Deer Park, in greater Spokane County; he continued to interact with residents of Eastern Washington’s smaller towns and rural communities after moving to Spokane in 1990. Peterson served on the Spokane Human Rights Commission, was an AIDS educator in Eastern Washington, and became the first openly-gay man to run for Washington State Representative in the 6th Legislative District. He left Spokane in 1999 to pursue ministry.
